The Finance Council is a representative body of no less than three people. The purpose of the council is to aid the pastor in the administration of parish goods under Canon Law section 1281-1288. Members are appointed freely by the pastor for a minimum term of three years with renewal terms. Finance Council members meet at least four times a year to review parish financial reports.
A finance Council member must be a practicing Catholic and registered parishioner of Santa Barbara Catholic Church. It is preferred that members possess experience or expertise within the business, finance, or law and are willing to be committed to the church. Finance Council members should also have the flexibility to meet four times or more throughout the fiscal year.
